I don't go with D W's approach. GSP has fought who? Matt Hughes? Matt Serra? He lost to them both, but the tactician in him tweaked what went wrong and created a working system in paying those two back; and boy did he. The thing about GSP is: you do not want to beat him. He will figure out what you did to pull out the victory and counter it. He will figure out what he can do to void your technique and then whip your ass for humiliating him in front of others. I love how this guy takes care of those who beat him. REVENGE!! My goodness, does he pay those two back. He could have submitted or KO'd either one of them, but chose to beat some ass first. He wanted them to know they made a huge mistake by embarrassing him in the past. Am I right? Heck yeah, I am. He'll have plans to do the same against Jon Fitch also. Wanna know why? Because, just like Hughes and Serra, Fitch is going to win the first fight. I don't see it any other way, but don't you worry none, 'cause he will exact his revenge during GSP/Fitch II. Back to D W's comment: GSP hasn't fought Anderson Silva, Diego Sanchez, Frank Trigg (oh yeah, did did fight Trigg--and won easily). Any way, Fitch has fought guys just a mean as any GSP has. Thiago Alves isn't a bad assk? Burkman is fodder? How 'bout Diego Sanchez? Was he lower tier material? Luigi Fioravanti is no slouch, either. GSP hasn't fought Mac Danzig, Dustin Hazelett yet. We can make a case for and against both fighters, but the bottom line is these are undoubtedly the two toughest welterweights we have. Can I get an amen? SO GSP is supposed to be the toughest opponent Fitch has come across, and he hasn't fought any one that caliber yet? We can say the exact same thing about GSP also. RIght? He certainly hasn't fought any one like Jon Fitch. He fought Matt Hughes and Matt Serra, and neither one of them are ranked. Well, Hughes was at one time, but Alves and GSP both kicked his assk. Serra? Heck, he got knocked out by Shonie Carter. Shonie Carter. I really love Matt Serra (not homo stuff), 'cause he IS a great coach and if he would have known who he was going to fight that night, he probably wouldn't have allowed himself to be taken down at will. Everyone knows GSP has one speed: that's constant. If you slip and GSP gets on top... Oh well, had your opportunities, but might as well start saying your prayers because it's lights out. I would hope Fitch jumps first when it comes to taking down the opponent. GSP will slip his hand down, pull the leg toward him and lean forward. Next thing we know, the opponent is on his back. And he does it over and over again, yet the fighters haven't figured out how to counter it yet. Easy, do it first. If GSP has plans to take him down over and over, then Fitch better do it over and over and do it before GSP decides to. Wouldn't you agree? I say Jon Fitch in 4 rounds by rear naked choke. If I'm mistaken and you are correct, then I'll cut my (dog's) hair. Yeah, GSP is fixin' to fight a feller who is twice as good as the other oponents and gifted? This boy is gifted. He is strong and hits hard. He can twist you up like a pretzel and sock it to you at the same time, then smile about it. GSP has never fought any one (over 5'5) before. Just kiddin' . But he is going up against the toughest fighter in his weight class. He is the underdog. Not Fitch. Fitch has the experience, maturity, intelligence and power that GSP has never encountered in his life!! Sounded good, eh? You know what? Ever since I first caught GSP in his first fight, I knew this guy would be champion some day, and here he is. That's how naturally pure this guy was. A little rough around the edges, but had the natural ability as an athlete that you don't see in others. This guy went on a tear beating any one in his way and in great fashion. Fitch, on the other hand, was never in the limelight until recently. If you have watched him since his first bouts, you would be raving about him as well. Jon Fitch is a monster. What more can I say about it. Fitch in 4 by submission. GSP will slip; be overly aggressive and that's all she wrote. --rty

This is a SPORT, and obviously as in all sports those who stand to profit want something that will bring fans back for more. But more important than anything is the fact that once you start becoming angered because it didn't thrill the crowd you lose focus on the sport, your complaints are the reason for things like WWE, not the other way around.

You're breakdown of this event is preposterous. You show no objectivity. Thousands of people felt Forrest Griffin won the fight, as evidenced by the poll on the front page of Sherdog. You are an idiot for suggesting otherwise. It was a close fight. It could have gone either way. It went one way. You argument that Melvin Guillard should have been on the main card over the much more deserving fighters that were there show you as nothing more then a bloodthirsy "Just Bleed" type freak, as opposed to a true MMA fan who wants to see the top level fighters.

Well spoken. Events like this makes me feel insulted. I miss the OLD SCHOOL shows. I hope UFC doesn't turn into a WWE-like toilet bowl show.
